Adjunct Faculty for Fall 2009

Perry Bentley will teach Alternative Dispute Resolution. Mr. Bentley is a member of Stoll Keenon Ogden in Lexington. His practice focuses on areas of personal injury, motor vehicle accident, fire and explosion cases, insurance defense, professional negligence, insurance fraud and bad faith litigation. He is also a certified mediator who regularly mediates a variety of civil disputes.

Rebecca DiLoreto will be the supervising attorney for the Children’s Law Center Externship. She is the Litigation Director for the Children’s Law Center, Inc., a nonprofit legal services center for children with offices in Covington and Lexington. Before coming to the CLC, Prof. DiLoreto had a twenty-four year career with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy (DPA) in indigent defense. She served as Post Trial Division Director for DPA for ten years and was the first director of the Lexington Public Defender’s Office. She has represented young people in juvenile, family and circuit court across the Commonwealth.

William Garmer will teach a section of Litigation Skills. Mr. Garmer is a founding partner of Garmer & O’Brien LLP in Lexington, and practices in the areas of personal injury and wrongful death. He is an experienced and talented trial lawyer and a frequent speaker on medical malpractice issues, and has been a leader in many local, state and regional bar associations.

Tom Griffiths will be the supervising attorney for the Department of Public Advocacy (DPA) Externship. He is the Directing Attorney of the DPA’s Lexington office. He has been a regional manager of the DPA for the past five years

G. Edward Henry II will be offering the Prison Internship. Mr. Henry is a partner at Henry Watz Gardner Sellars & Gardner, PLLC in Lexington, and has offered this internship here at the College of Law for many years.

Paula Holbrook will be the supervising attorney for the UK Healthcare Risk Management Office Externship. She is the Clinical Risk Manager at the UK Chandler Medical Center (UK Hospital).

Ray Larson will be teaching the Prosecutorial Internship. Mr. Larson is the Fayette County Commonwealth Attorney and has served the College of Law for many years providing trial and other practical experience for law students as interns in his office.

Larry Sykes and Don Wagner will be teaching Labor Law. They are members of Stoll Keenon Ogden in Lexington, practicing labor and employment law and litigation.

Charles Wisdom will be teaching and supervising the U.S. Attorney’s Office Appellate Section Externship. Mr. Wisdom is Chief of the Appellate Section of the United States Attorney’s Office in Lexington.
