For the last generation, the generous support of the College of Law's graduates and friends has been essential to maintaining the quality of the legal education provided our students. With tuition providing less than twenty percent of the cost of operating the College, and with appropriations from the Commonwealth unable to make up the complete gap, the gifts of our graduates and friends are critically important.
Such gifts fund scholarships for students, professorships for faculty members, co-curricular programs such as the trial competition and moot court teams. Special gifts over the years have enabled us to renovate portions of the existing building, to recognize the careers of outstanding professors, and to thank our loyal staff at the holidays.
With a much-needed new building on the horizon, the support of our graduates and friends is especially important. We have a chance in the next few years to make a giant advance in the quality of the College of Law, an advance that will serve us for generations to come.
The College of Law is pleased to recognize the generosity of our donors. Endowed chairs, professorships and student fellowships may be named for the donor, a spouse or other family member, a colleague, a favorite professor, a firm, or other person or organizations deserving recognition. Portions of the new building will be named in honor of donors. Donors to the College may qualify to become a University Fellow and member of the Lafferty Society at the College.
There are a number of different ways in which your gift to the College can be structured, outlined in the succeeding sections. Please take a few moments and consider how important your gift to the College can be, and how much it will be appreciated by the students and faculty of the College.
