Giving Opportunites |
 |
The financial support of the College of Law's alumni and friends is essential to maintaining the quality of legal education expected from the Commonwealth’s preeminent law school. Such gifts fund scholarships for students, professorships for faculty members, and co-curricular programs such as the trial competition and moot court teams. Additionally, with a much-needed new building now on the horizon, private support for the College is especially important.
Fundraising Priorities
College of Law New Building Campaign
Certainly one of the most critical initiatives for the College of Law is the new building campaign. Not only will the new building meet the educational needs of the College for years to come, providing much needed classroom, office and library space, but the new building is also an important symbolic confirmation of the importance of the College to the University and the Commonwealth. The College of Law has been asked to raise $15 million dollars in private support for this project and will be seeking the remainder of funding from the Commonwealth.
Dean’s Enhancement Fund, the College’s Annual Fund
Unrestricted gifts to the Dean’s Enhancement Fund provide the College of Law with flexibility in directing resources where they are most needed. This often includes increased financial aid to students, additional support for faculty research, equipment acquisitions and programmatic support.
The College of Law is pleased to recognize the generosity of our donors. Endowed professorships and student fellowships may be named for the donor, a spouse or other family member, a colleague, a favorite professor, a firm, or other individual or organization. Portions of the new building will be named in honor of donors. Donors to the College may qualify to become a University Fellow and member of the Lafferty Society at the College.
There are a number of different ways in which your gift to the College can be structured, outlined in the succeeding sections. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
