UK Law Hosts Conference on Lawyering in the Public Interest Sep 7 2012 5:11PM
On Wednesday, September 12, the UK College of Law hosted "Lawyering in the Public Interest," the third annual James and Mary Lassiter Distinguished Visiting Professor Conference. Beverly I. Moran, the 2012 Lassiter Disinguished Visitng Professor, led a group of prominent speakers through the day's events, which included:
- a breakfast address from Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III, immediate past president of the American Bar Association
- panels featuring notable professors and practitioners
- a showing of the film The Invisible War, introduced by Susan L. Burke, an attorney who transitioned from large-firm practice to advocate for whistle-blowers, American servicewomen, and Iraqi families injured by the Blackwater corporation.
